Modern-day slavery, when it results in people being bought and sold and moved around, is called human trafficking. Beyond the international statistics, slavery exists here in the United States. Conservative estimates state that 17,000-17,500 people are trafficked into this country every year. Within the United States, the U. S. Department of Justice  estimates  that anywhere between 100,000-300,000 American kids are at risk of entering the sex trade each year.”
